Scientist – Translational Immunology

Agalimmune is a wholly-owned UK subsidiary of BioLineRx, a biopharmaceutical company developing innovative medicines for the treatment of immune-related disorders and cancer. 

Agalimmune is seeking an experienced immunologist, for an immediate start, to join a small team of dedicated scientists based at Discovery Park in Sandwich, Kent. The role is full-time and the successful candidate will work on projects that span the drug development space. The role will involve two main functions: 
1) The design, monitoring and analysis of in vivo studies taking place at external partner organizations and the ex vivo analysis of study samples.
2) The design, performance, analysis and reporting of in vitro immunology studies, to be performed in the laboratory at Discovery Park.

The role would suit an experienced researcher looking to progress their career in the biopharmaceutical sector and work in areas of cutting-edge drug development 

Key responsibilities
  • Design, analysis, monitoring and reporting of in vivo studies being performed at external partners
  • Analysis of ex vivo samples using a variety of immunological techniques
  • Managing relationships with external partners to deliver high quality data
  • Visiting external partners to monitor ongoing studies
  • Design, analysis, performance and reporting of in vitro immunology studies
  • Working as part of a global project team and being accountable for given workstreams
  • Communicating results at internal and external meetings
  • Writing study reports to support regulatory submissions

Minimum requirements
  • B.Sc in a biological discipline
  • >5 years’ practical experience in immunology/immuno-oncology 
  • Extensive practical experience of murine models of cancer
  • Extensive experience of the design, analysis and reporting of results from in vivo studies
  • Extensive experience of the analysis of ex vivo samples using a variety of immunological techniques
  • Experience of design, performance and analysis of in vitro immunology assays 
  • Experience of the design, performance and analysis of multiparameter flow cytometry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and time-management skills and a good team player
  • Able to start ASAP

Desirable attributes 
  • Higher degree in a biological discipline (preferably in immunology)
  • > 2 years’ industrial experience
  • Experience of monitoring studies at contract research organisations
  • Experience of plate-based pharmacology assays
